Where we process the personal data of people in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we do so in accordance with UK GDPR and the GDPR respectively. Where we process the personal data of people in Switzerland we do so in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection. Processing in the United Arab Emirates is governed by Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
What we collect
When you submit a brief, we collect the name, email address, company, website and any project detail or files you choose to send. Supplying this is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer you.
When you email or call us, we collect the contact details and the content of that correspondence.
Our hosting provider records technical data, including IP address, user agent and the pages requested, for the purpose of delivering the site and defending it against abuse.
Why we may process it
To answer an enquiry and to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
To perform a contract once one exists.
For our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the site, where that interest is not overridden by your rights.
To meet a legal obligation, including retention of commercial correspondence.
Cookies and measurement
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site tracking. Your colour mode preference is kept in your browser’s local storage; it never leaves your device and is not personal data to us.
If analytics are introduced, this notice will be updated and, where consent is required, consent will be requested before any non-essential technology is set.
Who else sees it
Our hosting provider, which serves the site and stores server logs.
Our email provider, which delivers the brief to our inbox and processes any attachments you send.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
International transfers
Because we operate across the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personal data may be transferred between these jurisdictions and to providers established elsewhere. Where a transfer leaves the UK, the EEA or Switzerland to a country without an adequacy decision, it is made under appropriate safeguards, including the applicable standard contractual clauses. A copy of the safeguards relied on is available on request.
How long we keep it
An enquiry that does not become a project is deleted within twenty four months.
Project correspondence and contract records are kept for the retention period required by the applicable commercial and tax law, and deleted after it.
Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes and then deleted or aggregated.
Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you may request access to your personal data, correction of it, deletion of it, restriction of processing, or a copy in a portable format. You may object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
Write to studio@yoyo.studio and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority: in the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner’s Office, in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, and in the United Arab Emirates the UAE Data Office.
Security
The site is served over TLS. Access to briefs and correspondence is limited to the people in the studio who need it. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and you send information to us on that understanding.
